The 2-row Honda Passport CUV has taken many by surprise when Honda decided to bring it back in the form of being based on the popular 3-row Honda Pilot. For the 2022 model year, the Honda Passport gets a facelift and a new TrailSport trim with added off-roading capabilities.

The new 2022 Honda Passport returns from its 2019 re-introduction into the market to receive some slight updates and a refreshing in the styling department. The mid-cycle refresh brings us reshaped bumpers and new wheels along with a new grille. On the inside, the 2022 Passport gets an updated instrument cluster and reworking of some of the trim level’s equipment such as the EX-L getting contrasted color stitching on its leather seats.

The most notable change for the 2022 model year is a new Passport TrailSport trim with all-wheel drive, touted as being something for the more adventurous receiving visual enhancements for a more rugged appearance. Fundamentally, something to compete with Subaru’s Wilderness line of crossovers. The functional off-roading bits come from an increased ground clearance, skid plates, recovery hooks, a unique suspension tuning potentially adapted for better off-roading stability, and new all-terrain tires.
